Pilates is great for back issues, but it also is an amazing body-sculpting workout which is a bonus!
Jo (40) shares why she loves Pilates so much:
“I’d heard good things about it from friends and decided to give Pilates a try to see if it would help my lower back pain. Sitting at a desk all day and carrying a heavy handbag meant my posture was shocking and I often had to go to the osteopath. I also wanted to do some exercise but hate the gym.
Since starting Pilates, I no longer have any back pain and feel much fitter and healthier. I’ve dropped a dress size as my body has changed shape. It’s also a great way to de-stress and relax.
My favourite Pilates exercises are any that work my hip-flexors and stretch my spine. An hour of Pilates and I always feel great.
For me, Pilates is the only exercise I have ever enjoyed and I hope I’m still doing it when I am 80!”
